Greetings from the President

MIC Medical was set up in 1986 as a Contract Research Organization (CRO), which focused on managing medical device development for foreign companies in the domestic market and providing medical business consulting services.

Currently, MIC Medical provides its customers with all aspects of clinical trial services, which include monitoring, quality control, quality assurance, data management, statistical analysis, medical writing, and analysis of medical images.

In monitoring, MIC Medical dispatches clinical research associates (CRAs, or monitors) to drugmakers to perform monitoring duties on the temporary staffing side of its CRO business, while on the outsourcing side of its business, it is contracted by drugmakers to have its CRAs perform their duties in house.

There is considerable scope for the CRO market in Japan to grow over the medium term as pharmaceutical makers increasingly seek to improve the efficiency of their clinical trials through outsourcing to CROs with extensive experience and expertise. MIC Medical has carved out a position for itself in the industry constructing a hybrid CRO business model consisting of both outsourcing and staffing services.
